Two-Day Animal Sculpture Workshop (two sculptures) (up to date images to follow soon)
Create an animal sculpture of your choice over two immersive days of hands-on clay work. With a reduced group size (approx 6) you’ll receive more individual attention and tailored guidance throughout the process. These sculptures are a little bigger than the day workshop sculptures and we use a higher grade clay.
This workshop is ideal for those who have attended my day workshops and are ready to take their skills further. You also create a relief sculpture for your wall.
What You’ll Create
Using high quality clay and a selection of sculptors’ tools, you’ll craft a complete animal sculpture from start to finish. As a warm-up, you’ll also create an animal relief sculpture for your wall.
I’ll provide step-by-step support as we build your creature’s body, limbs, head, and finer details. Sculpting your own pet is possible—though I’d encourage you to be realistic about the challenge. This is a skill that takes time to develop, but with guidance, you’ll create something you can be proud of. Please opt for a sitting or laying down pose.
A glazing and decorating session will follow on a date arranged to suit you.
Schedule
Day One
9:30am** — Arrival and welcome (Brews and biscuits will be available)
10:00am** — Introduction, demonstration, and creation of your relief sculpture
12:30–1:30pm** — Lunch (Please bring a packed lunch, otherwise contact me to arrange a meal at The Roebuck Pub which is next door https://www.theroebuckotley.co.uk/)
1:30–4:30pm** — Demonstration of clay building techniques; begin working on the basic form of your main sculpture
Day Two
10:00am** — Continue building, with a focus on refining shape and form, adding texture, and capturing expression
12.30-1.30pm- Lunch
1.30-4.30pm -The final touches!
Day Three 1.5-2hr decorating/glazing session. Date to be arranged.

Over two payments £150 deposit and the remainder on the day of the workshop.
The locationClifton Village Hall is Located just outside the historic market town of Otley and set in the stunning surroundings of the Wharfe Valley. It is very accessible from both Leeds, Harrogate and the surrounding area.
There is plenty of free parking. Please bring a packed lunch otherwise there’s a pub serving food next door, a chip shop and other shops nearby in Otley too.
